The Herend Victoria decor is built up of butterflies and flowers as decor elements. In this post, we go through each of the building blocks of the Queen Victoria VBO Herend design. Can you choose them? Should you choose them? let’s see!
Victoria VBO edges
The edges of the Queen Victoria VBO plates and cups are always painted with a gilded edge, light green paint, and gilded decor elements.
The little varying forms are typically showing pointy teeth.

Modern variants have blue, pink, orange, and other color variations.

The colored edge Victoria VBO variations have different product codes as they were introduced much later, during the 21st century. However, by design, they are also variations of the Victoria designs.
The form of these ornamental border elements cannot be changed by request. They represent a fixed frame for the decor.
Princess Victoria is the decor, where only this frame is present on the porcelain elements. Even this is a clean, royal air design, searched by many.

Floral elements of Victoria VBO
Multiple floral elements and peony flowers are painted on the VBO Herend design.
Smaller floral motifs are on cups and small saucers.

Larger floral elements are painted on large surfaces like teapots, trays, or platters.

How many floral elements are there?
- More than 400 floral variations are available.
The butterflies of Victoria VBO
The large detailed butterflies are the crown on top of all motifs of the Victoria design. The vivid butterflies give a vivid air, the feeling of movement of the Asian gardens to this decor.
There are small butterflies for smaller cups, where space is a scarcity.

Also, there are a bit larger, detailed artwork motifs of butterflies. They are painted on platters as center decor pieces.

However, interestingly, large butterflies are reintroduced with the child decor Royal Garden – EVICT.
Why re-introduced? Because the original Museum VICTORIA or Old Victoria design had really large, life-like butterflies painted on them. These large forms became smaller, stylized, colorful butterflies in the Queen Victoria VBO design.
Can I choose the preferred motifs for the Herend VBO design?
There is tremendous variation based on the sheer numbers of the initial motifs available to decorate ANY Herend Victoria VBO design.
It is not obvious at all to name these motifs and order them in the exact layout as they can be seen on a product image.
Now you can see why there are no motif numbers for Victoria VBO floral and butterfly elements. The design itself represents the variety of an oriental forest or flowery garden.
