The Grue Herend pattern is painted with Chinoiserie, Oriental Style. This was typical to Herend to recreate oriental designs in the early period. Later, the owner, Fischer Mor created his own designs, combining the Oriental elements and European simplicity. The fish handle on both sides is a typical oriental motif. The saucer is pierced which makes it especially hard to produce. The rich gilded decor represent prosperity even today.
