Old Queen Victoria pattern was unveiled at the Great Exhibition London in 1851, where it scored a huge success. The recognition meant not only a gold medal from the jury but a commission from the person who gave her name to the design. Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom ordered a great table service in this pattern for her Windsor Castle.
