Herend Museum Victoria, also known as Old Victoria, is a design that was originally purchased by Queen Victoria in 1851. The design made its debut at the World Fair in London in 1851. The dark pastel leaves and butterflies used in the design were considered a real surprise at the time. Victoria introduced a European understanding of the oriental design space, and every detail of the Victoria design is sensible of the traditional 19th century. Although the colors used in the design are considered very dark today.
Tea, coffee sets, and dinnerware are still available painted with the Victoria design.
